More Than Pirates: Migration in the 17th & 18th-century British Caribbean

Daisy Ramsden’s research focuses on the establishment of British colonies in the 17th and 18th-century Caribbean, and touched on the large number of voluntary and bound migrants found in contemporary shipping records.  These records also connect to the colonial US and Canada's Atlantic provinces, as well as the transatlantic slave trade.  Daisy will share how to find and use the migration records to the Britain's North American and Caribbean colonies in the colonial era.
