Writing to Heal and Empower
Discover the healing capacities of creativity and how to approach any artistic endeavor with mindfulness and freedom, presented by author Alexis Marie Chute. Creative writing will be the focus of this workshop, and participants are encouraged to come prepared to write.
Different writing styles will be discussed for their potential for expression, self-discovery, reflection, and personal empowerment. Alexis Marie will introduce each style and share how-to’s to ensure a positive writing experience. This workshop will be spent learning and writing, as participants are given the time to try the different styles, as well as share their work.
Alexis Marie Chute is an award-winning artist, author, photographer, filmmaker, and advocate. Her memoir, Expecting Sunshine, was a Kirkus Best Book of 2017 and has been screened internationally as a documentary film. Her second book, an epic fantasy called Above the Star, is Book one in The 8th Island Trilogy. Books two and three are slated for release in 2019 and 2020.
