nîpawistamâsowin: We Will Stand Up Film Screening

Join host Sharon Morin, from Michif Cultural Connections and bear witness to a tragic story that deserves our attention. On August 9, 2016, a young Cree man named Colten Boushie died from a gunshot to the back of his head after entering Gerald Stanley’s rural property with his friends. Sensitively directed by Tasha Hubbard, this documentary weaves a profound narrative of the Boushie family’s pursuit of justice, the director’s own adoption, the history of colonial injustice and the vision of a future where Indigenous children can live safely in their homeland.  Rated PG-13; for Adults and Teens
