Canada Reads @ the Library (ONLINE)

St. Albert loves Canada Reads!  Every year, people come to listen to what our local celebrity experts have to say in defence of their books, and add their own voices to the debate. We may not be able to fill the program room at the Library, but we can fill the internet! This year's theme is " One Book to Transport Us", and our panel of experts are:

  • Scott Hayes defending Butter Honey Pig Bread by Francesca Ekwuyasi

  • Celine Caruso Dixon defending Hench by Natalie Zina Walschots

  • Vern Thiessen defending Two Trees Make a Forest by Jessica J. Lee

  • Susie Moloney defending The Midnight Bargain by C.L. Polk

  • and returning champion Celina Loyer defending Jonny Appleseed by Joshua Whitehead

Be part of a fun, stimulating evening, and help us decide what Canada’s Next Great Read will be.

CBC Canada Reads is an annual "battle of the books" competition, with celebrities championing books. Each day, panellists vote to eliminate one book, until a single title is chosen as the title the whole country should read this year.
